Domain Transfer Information
Global and uk.com Domains
The authorising for the Transferring of Global Domains is done by email, so before you start the transfer you must ensure that the current administration contact email address for the domain is valid and that the person receiving email at that address knows that they must respond to emails about the transfer.
The administration contact will receive an email from the relevant registrant body with instructions on how to confirm the transfer.
Once confirmed it will take between 24 hours and 7 days to become active depending on your current provider. Please check with them in the first instance.
HostPost may also receive another email from the current registrar containing instructions to authorise the transfer away from them.
The Nameservers with IP addresses (if needed) to set your domain to for transfer are:
- ns.mainnameserver.com 79.170.40.2
- ns2.mainnameserver.com 79.170.40.3
Please note that .com, .net, .org, .info, .name and .biz domain names cannot be transferred within 60 days of registration or 60 days of expiry.
UK Domains
To transfer your UK Domain; .co.uk .org.uk .me.uk You will have to change the IPS tag of the domain is being released to, EXTEND
Depending on your current provider you may be able to do this yourself through a Control Panel or you may have to ask your provider to do it for you.
it is free to transfer your domain into (and out of) HostPost but your provider may impose a charge to transfer out. UK Domain transfers are general very quick to process, usually in a matter of hours.
